With so many great places to choose from, how is a first-time visitor to find the best club to suit his or her personal tastes? Here's a list of some of the best bars and clubs that Phoenix has to offer and what to expect there:

For Dancing, Socializing

Margarita Rocks

Stop by Margarita Rocks for a crazy night of drinking and dancing. Located near Arizona State University, this nightclub is a magnet for guys and girls who just want to let loose and have fun. Bikini clad waitresses will serve you at one of the 10 bars and beer tubs in the club. The best night to go is Thursday night for their $2.00 you-call-it special and Wet T-Shirt Contest.

For Lounging

The Door

The Door Lounge is a secretive little nightclub located well off the beaten path. There are no neon signs to point it out, so be sure to follow the address. The atmosphere is very laid back for those clubbers who enjoy relaxing among good friends and great drinks. The Door has DJs nightly, as well. Hit up their Tuesday night Poetry Lounge for something completely relaxing and original.

For Sports

Upper Deck Sports Grill
4224 N. Craftsman Court
Scottsdale, AZ 85251

Upper Deck is Scottsdale's number one sports bar. Owner Tom Anderson has put together a mix of perfect atmosphere, a great menu, and a variety of sports offerings. His is the only bar in the area that offers every available TV sports package so, no matter what the season, your favorite teams will be on one of their high-definition screens. Wednesdays are $1.50 burger days here. Come down and enjoy a couple!

For Casual

Dos Gringos
Various locations throughout the valley.

Dos Gringos is the perfect place to go if you want to avoid swanky nightclub dress codes and high-priced martinis. Each location boasts a large and friendly patio area complete with TVs and a great staff. The atmosphere feels like a beach party with all of your closest friends, complete with low-priced drink specials. The highlight is definitely their happy hour which is daily from 4pm to 7pm.

For Perfection

Myst
7340 E. Shoeman Lane
Scottsdale, AZ 85251

Myst Nightclub is one of the most popular upscale clubs in the city. The club is 18,000 square feet over two stories and has multiple rooms to lounge in. The dance floor area at its heart is a perfect place to lose a couple of hours. Myst is the place to go for a high-class Saturday night in the city.
