We've all heard the constant yammering about weight loss and the perfect body. Well about 4 months ago I was about fifty pounds heavier. I said enough is enough and dropped the junk food and the carbs (bad idea to drop carbs completely) and hit the gym. I made a schedule of how I was going to lose the weight and how fast the weight loss would come...WRONG!
I did not know what I was doing; I was walking at a comfortable pace, using the elliptical machine, and lifting your arms and legs combos. At first the pounds fell off by the end of week two I had dropped 20 pounds, which is not as healthy people tell me I should have lost it, but I was happy and lighter. ultimately I was still not in very good shape; as well as I had injured my ACL using the elliptical machine for extended periods of time.
I began to realize that I needed to revamp my whole plan to continue weight loss effectively. I began to jog a light 10 minute fast jog and box the boxing bag for 20 minutes...Bingo I had found my ultimate weightloss method. by kicking up the speed and working a different muscle group for cardio I was getting a much more effective work out than I would have otherwise.
The moral of the story work smarter and harder.
