Technology, the Silent Killer
"It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity," Albert Einstein eloquently declared. Many people do not realize how technological advancements have made an impact on our lives that it seems almost impossible to live without it. It seems that Albert Einstein gives us a choice in his statement; he is saying to either choose technology or humanity. Life used to be more complex with hundreds of individuals focused on the arts, health and politics; however, technology has made lives easier with each passing year that it seems that people have stopped using their brains to think.
I admit that technology is crucial for medical purposes but it is taking away the very essence of who we are. One day artificial intelligence will be the great beings with great intellect and humans will have shifted downward in the evolution process. Technology allows students to not only gain information, but allows them to take advantage and use it in the wrong way. Cheating never helped anyone and the student would not have gained knowledge to use for future use. With the popularity with unintelligent celebrities who seem to take advantage of being famous and act irresponsibly and usually without thinking. People would rather watch television or surf the web in order to avoid reading or doing something that provokes thought instead of just cruising through life focusing on meaningless objects.
Furthermore, technology seems to have a negative effect on people who have small electronic devices in their rooms. For instance, if a teenager is getting ready to go to sleep and they are surrounded by many distractions such as, a stereo, television set, video game
