Guide to shopping in preparation for male to female (MTF) gender reassignment surgery

So you have made your first huge step towards attaining gender reassignment surgery (GRS) which was confronting the issue and seeking professional help, congratulations! You know feel ready for the next big step in the journey which is learning how to pass in daily life as a woman. Granted not everyone is fortunate enough (Or well financed enough) to enter the real life experience phase (RLE)without needing help to eliminate or mask some of those male characteristics. Not everyone even knows where to start which is where this very simple guide comes in. This guide is not the only way to do things but it is tested starting point and is aimed at showing you how to maximize your spending dollars and get you not just started, but through the entire process of the RLE.

It's not as simple as buying a few dresses and some lipstick and walking out of the house. As you have become aware at this point in transition most things aren't going to be as easy as you have hoped. The best place to start is with the basics.

You will need to plan on doing some clothes shopping and the earlier you start the better. While shopping on line does give a certain sense of anonymous security it also comes with the pitfall of a higher price tag and no knowledge that what you are buying will be the proper fit for you. Let's face it, the bodies of those born physically female and male differ and getting a perfect fit is generally not going to happen. You have to realize the bust and hips are often going to be skewed to the large side while sleeves and leg lengths will be a bit too short for most.

A good starting point and something you can do on line to jump start your wardrobe is to buy your intimates on line, yes intimates does mean your undergarments. Stores like Wal-Mart offer these on line for shipping under a dollar per item often times so for this particular item it is not a cash killer. Other items you can look at as well in this venue include purses, wallets, earrings, and things which are not size sensitive. While many people assume they will get by with just one handbag it will become plainly evident that one may be good day to day, but you will need different ones for different occasions, and don't forget a clutch for dressier occasions!

Next a good place to visit is a couple thrift stores. If you aren't comfortable in your hometown take a ride to an area where you are unknown. The reason thrift shops are so good is you can get not just a large variety but a rather large quantity
