When visiting a place you always want to be sure to be prepared when it comes to weather. You want to bring the right clothes to wear so you are not too hot or too cold. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania has its moments when it is flat out humid. Therefore, always look ahead in the forecast to see what is anticipated, but there are certain months that you can expect warm or cold weather.
Most northern states have the four seasons in full bloom from the spring through winter. The northern states are typically very cold during the winter. Philadelphia will get snow in February while November and December tend to be icy cold. If you like the cold weather your best time would be to go during the winter months. Snow doesn't just fall in Philadelphia either. When snow falls it covers everything and it ices overnight. It is very difficult to get around and do some site-seeing if you are visiting during February especially. Just keep in mind what you may want to do and determine whether or not the weather will have much affect on it.
Bad humidity occurs during the Summer months of June, July, and August. They are the absolute worst and can be unbearable at times. In most cases people can only go on vacation during the summer months. If you plan to visit Philadelphia during the Summer months then I would recommend to bring light clothing and try to stay inside as much as possible. Check to see how hot it is expected to be and only go out on the days that aren't too bad. Wear hats to cover your head from the sun and wear plenty of deodorant as the clothing tends to start sticking to you after awhile.
The best months to go to Philadelphia are during either the spring or the fall. April and May are the best with warm days and cool nights. September and October are wonderful as well since the days are breezy and the nights are cool. I would recommend to visit Philadelphia during these months if you are concerned about weather and don't want to fear it being too hot or cold. The best month of all I would say is October since it is right before the real cold hits and there's no rain to worry about and no blizzards to fear.
