History As Currently Being Taught Is It Believable?

Can we believe our History Books? Can we believe what the papers say, what is shown on TV? Is the writer, the camera lying?

Well, yes and no. Russia, when it was the Soviet Union, rewrote its own history books. Gave itself the leading role in every great historical event. Its people, so brainwashed over the decades could not distinguish between truth and fiction. Their eyes when seeing the truth tended to reject it as so much foreign propaganda. What a disservice its own country did to its own people.

Is it the intent of some of those keepers of history in our country to try to tread the same path? What do they hope to gain? And what we, as citizens, lose? What will our children say, when they discover what they were taught was all lies? What had been taught was an agenda, a view, an outlook, making everything conform to a politically correct image. Not the truth, just a whitewash.

Well it is happening again and if the watchdogs of the truth continue to slumber, at some time line in the future, the book burning, art burning etc. of all that has been altered, will take place.

We have museums funded by taxpayers attempting to slant WW2. How it began, how it ended, all in the name of politically correct. They are attempting to inform all who come after us that WW 2 was our fault.

Lest they forget, in the name of politically correct and on the graves of all those who perished during that conflict. We did not start the war.

We were in a depression and completely unprepared for the attack made on us.
We did not drop the bombs on Pearl Harbor.
We did not sink all those ships in Pearl Harbor with most if not all hands on deck.
We did not join with Hitler and Italy to conquer the world.
All we did was fight back, fight to retain our freedom. And as with all wars we did what was prudent to shorten the conflict.

Why are we always the heavies? Why all the moaning and groaning because we bombed, say Dresden or Berlin? Why not mention the bombing of London by Hitler. Of Poland, of Holland, etc. Why not mention how many Poles, Russians, etc. Hitler killed. The holocaust included others not only Jews. This was a war started by a madman, not the U.S.

Time marching forward? No, it's time marching backward; the world has lost sight of the true villains, the true ogres. Instead it and the politically correct in our own country would condemn, would denigrate the very ones who are providing them their own freedom.

We could name many instances where truth is being stretched to the limit. Global warming? It is now being repudiated as so much hog wash.

Inventions that occurred in the United States are being claimed to have taken place in Russia.

Today, even newspapers are getting into the act. Fact checking has become a lost art and what is being printed sometimes is far from the truth.

If we read it, if it is being taught in our schools our universities, etc. doesn't always make it so. All things should be viewed with a critical eye, because what one sees may be total fabrication.

When did this license not tell the truth become part of the main stream, when did character lose its virtue?

We as the human race are headed down a path that will not bring us any rewards; it will destroy us instead.

History for the ages, history for our children, or history for those who hate this country?
