Poetry: My angel

by Michael Brumfield

Created on: April 22, 2008

The Battle
I see Jesus as he is walking away
My guardian angel begs him to stay
He begs him to battle for my soul
But he says the battle has gotten to old
He stairs with disdain into my eyes
He sees all of my sins and all of my lies
He can see the drugs fall from my nose
He says that I'm not the reason that he arose
But instead I'm the reason the he had died
For all of my sins and each time I had lied
He grabs my angels halo as he is walking away
But still my angel begs him to stay.
