Poetry: Alarm clocks

by Brian Caron

The shiny metal bells

With the ring-a-ting-a-ting

And the ding-a-ding-a-ding

And I smack it on the top

And I hate it to the end

Then I get a radio

Where voices blare

And, I don't know

The shiny bells

What with the ding

What with the ring

What with the teenage dreams

Of useless things

I don't even want a clock

Any single ways
