Poetry: Tarot cards

by Toni Thompson

Created on: April 21, 2008

Wrinkled-with-wisdom hands,
Heart and soul that see the world deep,
I shuffle the deck,
I cut the cards,
My cards,
My fate,
My destiny.

I know she alone could capture my fate,
She alone can guide me to my destiny.

Hands lined and laced with spirit,
She lays the cards one by one,
in a row,
in three stacks.

Eyes big and wide,
OHHH, UHHH,
Smiling through her eyes,

She alone holds my future in the cards, in her hands.
She alone holds my destiny in her hands, in the cards.

I touch the cards with my own magic,
They appear
Queens, coins, 1's and 2's,
OHHHH, VERRRRRYYYY GOOD,
Ahhhhhh, Amaaaaazing.

She nods and slowly,
carefully
with her trusted hands,
spills my future,
my fate,
my destiny.

A deep breath,
Wrinkled, knowing hands and lips,

"It's in your cards,
Clear as clear can be,
You control your our own fate.
You alone control your destiny."
