Of course a horror really occurred at 112 Ocean Avenue,a whole family was slaughtered while they slept, including three innocent children.I believe this to be the most shocking of event's to occur at the famous Amityville house, after all George and Kathy Lutz lived to tell their tale the Defeo's were not so lucky.

I think the real question here is do you believe the Lutz's tale of terror.I have read some of the other article's on this subject debunking the Lutz's story,unfortunately a lot of the evidence they used to support this is completely untrue.I would like to set the record straight on these point's before giving my viewpoint on the haunting.First off the Lutz's knew the history of the house and never claimed otherwise, as they didn't believe in ghost's they did not see it as a problem.Father Pecaro(Father Mancuso in the book and film)did bless the house and admitted feeling uneasy whilst doing so,although he was never slapped or ordered to get out.Which leads me to my next point, most of the the strange occurrence's in the book were exaggerated by the author and the Lutz's have made no secret about this.Mr Weber wasn't George Lutz's lawyer but was Ronald Defeo's.According to Mr Lutz Weber approached them about handling the book deal and after they refused a vendetta broke out between the two which ended in Weber crying hoax.Dr Kaplan who claims to have lead a paranormal investigation into the house is a straight up liar.Kaplan who is in fact not a doctor of anything was approached by George to do an investigation but he later canceled after finding out Kaplan was a vampirologist.Kaplan then claimed to have broken in to the house to do his own investigation and called the Lutz's liars.Sometime later Kaplan apologized publicly to George when both were invited to an interview.Many people have mentioned that the Lutz children have called their step dad a liar,this is not true.One of the boy's admitted in an interview that although the fact's were greatly embellished by George he did in fact see ghost's and strange thing's happen in the house.

This leads me to evidence to support the haunting.The Warren's who are very respected in the paranormal field lead an investigation inside the house and corroborated the Lutz's claim.Although this isn't conclusive the photo of the phantom boy they captured on infrared camera during the investigation can't easily be explained away.As it happens i compared said photo to one of John Defeo and the likeness is uncanny.Both Kathy and George underwent a polygraph test and passed with flying color's,the result's are easily found on the Internet.

I do think there is some truth to the Amityville Horror.I have been on a few ghost study's and have seen some pretty weird stuff that i can't explain.I believe that the Lutz family were haunted by the Defeo's.George Lutz looks a lot like Ronnie Defeo and perhaps this is why the spirits were malevolent toward's the family or perhaps they just wanted their house back.Do i believe there was a flying pig and slime coming from the wall's?No.I think this is the exaggeration the Lutz children spoke of.I guess nobody will ever know the truth for sure and that is why the case still receives so much attention.
