Poetry: Life's journey

by Laine Traver

Created on: April 21, 2008

A war rages on a distant shore
Life wilting as it spreads
No being untouched
Nondisciminating from friend or foe
As lakes of tears stream down her face
A lonely mother cries in haste
Grasping on to her offsprings
Final resting place
Her eyes in haze
Gaze upon the wars starting place
Unknown to them the womans weeping
Sultans and Kings laugh unmercifully
As devils deals they now do place
For silent killers to be set
In far off corners
Away from their mountain safe
While packs be made of another kind
Far from the suns gleaming eye
Death whispering giddily within their words
Not far from a lonely shape
Kneeling to say a final prayer
For her sire to come home
As she watches her mother crying upon her brothers tomb
Hoping those men on high
Will glasp their hands in peace
Praying for school to start and learning to begin
A silent prayer drifts toward the heavens
As a world waits for the answer from above
