From 56 to 25
I will not let you break my heart
or take away what ever may still shine in me.
And on your leaving I shall not dwell or brag or tell
of those sweet hours we spent in private revelry.
I will hold you like a pearl in black opacity,
ignored, unseen, invisible to all until
in days of gloom when hope is gone I'll
gaze once more upon those brief, bright hours
and your sweet smile shall see me once more home again.
