The imposing of teaching experts and their methods is another big problem in public schools today. I am quite sure that these experts became experts by practicing, and the administrators should let teachers learn and implement their own teaching methods.
Teachers, just like lawyers and doctors, are constantly learning and implementing their findings on others. So, why not let teachers teach and learn to teach and become experts at teaching?
I am not a teacher but an assistant and I have seen the teachers have to execute somebody else's expert teaching method and how aggravating it is. Teachers are people and need to use their own methods. I think it is demoralizing for a teacher to have to use someone else's teaching method.
School administrators need to adhere to the fact that each teacher is his or her own individual being and they have their own ideas from the moment that they decide to become teachers.
When I decided to become a teacher I had no idea that teachers had to follow these other people's teaching methods for real. I was under the impression that the college courses that I took were just to give me an idea of how to become a great teacher. Instead, I find out that they are teaching Chicago style teaching in some schools and other styles that are not localized styles of teaching.
These teaching styles can be very confusing and hard to enforce on the children because if we are in New York City which is the inner city, then why are we implementing teaching styles from other states or countries on our teachers and children? This is the most absurd thing that I have ever heard of and it is a big problem for teachers.
Some teachers study and research their own teaching methods and they are dumb founded when they learn that they cannot even implement their methods. It is much better for administrators to allow teachers to either use their own methods of teaching or allow them to use local teaching methods. For the administration not to allow teachers to use their own or local teaching methods, is an offense to the teachers because it means that they have no confidence in their intellect.
Finally, it is an insult for the administration to have teachers use hypothetically "superior" teaching methods when they can use regional and their own teaching methods.
