Ten years I have spent in here
living with myself and sharing fear
Wasting life, doing time
paying for someone else's crime
That's okay, someone has to pay
someone has to be put away
The evidence, it stuck to the wall
at my expense, it didn't fall
I am just an ordinary looking guy
one in a thousand, just walking by
A shot rang out and someone fell
I ran in fear, I ran to hell
A bystander who saw me run
said that's the one who shot the gun
In confusion I ran some more
I ran right into the law
Although there was no weapon clear
the gun in my car was apt and near
In small towns, down in the south
mistaken identity shoots it's mouth

I care not to know you
Nor do I need your
