After more than four years as a Netflix subscriber, I feel confident in saying that the program has been well worth the money. I rarely go to see movies in the theater, and would often miss out on things I wanted to see. I received an offer for a Netflix free trial, and decided to give it a shot.

A Netflix subscription provides a set number of DVDs at a time. You can select anywhere from one to eight movies, with costs ranging from $4.99 to $47.99. When you return one of the selections you have at home, a new movie is automatically mailed to you from a queue that you set up on the website.

I decided on a 2 at-a-time membership option which runs at a flat fee of $14 a month. I was pleasantly surprised by the return time on DVDs - they always arrive back at my local Netflix center the day after I mail them. My new DVD is placed in the mail that day and takes only one more to make it back to my house. After four years, there has been no change in that 48 hour turn around time. My movies arrive exactly when I want them, and Netflix regularly surveys its members to make sure that deliveries are speedy.

I also love that there are no late fees. While the video store down the street may be convenient, sometimes I hang on to movies for longer than I should. One particular Netflix film stayed at my house for six months. While not the best use of my money, rotating the second DVD covered the subscription cost and I didn't occur any additional fees for my negligence!

Their collection covers everything from TV shows to documentaries to fitness videos. If you are considering buying a new workout tape, you can try it out on Netflix first to see if you like it! Where else can you try before you buy in that way?

Netflix has done well at keeping up with trends and technology. With the popularity of social networking, they added a "Friends & Community" section. You can add your friends by their email addresses and keep up with their movie rentals and reviews.

Now there are also over 8000 movies and television episodes available to watch directly from the website. This number is increasing on a regular basis, and does not affect my DVD selections. With my 2 at-a-time account, sometimes I am in the mood for something different than what I have at home. Instead of waiting two days for a new DVD to arrive, I can watch something straight from the website.

I have considered other programs, such as the Blockbuster All Access program. However, Netflix has provided nothing but wonderful service for me and I am loyal to companies who maintain high levels of service. Besides, with over 150 DVDs in my queue, who has the time to change services?
