Night Sky
To find a flawless beauty is difficult indeed,
For others find the flaws which the subject will concede.
After searching in this world for the best nature has,
I found a more complete splendor above Earth's grand mass.
Commanding a cloudless night, its calm peace captures me.
With purity in perfection, the bold black expanse
Will never be disfigured by mere humanity,
When its whole essence escapes that precarious chance.
Another certainty is the life-clear to the eye:
The stars and planets-often with the Moon-they all lie;
Stretched across the scape glows the haze of the Milky Way;
And all this light shall beam long after our lives decay.
Oh, how the quiet and calm of this assured presence
Ignites the warm, life loving spark of my inner fire,
As well as induce the silent, calm peace to commence.
May that purity and permanence always inspire!
