Unfair treatment at work

Unfair treatment at work

Unfair treatment at work doesn't always comply with the laws of our country. Sometimes it's just unfair treatment of another individual. It applies to favoritism, professional courtesy to one another, and leadership.

A career is something that we spend a lifetime achieving. We spend countless hours on education and continuing education to be better prepared for our career. We read articles, newspaper reports, and magazines specially designed with our career in mind. We spend large amounts of money on college courses or continuing education resources. We buy uniforms, equipment, and don't forget, professional licenses.

Then during the course of our career we find that our leaders or boss takes control. They, too, are human but often they can be degrading and unfair. They hold threats over our heads such as: if you don't stay and work overtime we'll get you for abandonment or they may play favoritism by asking others to do extra work then offer them an incentive that we normally don't get.

Why are we concerned with the unfair treatment at work? Because it affects our lives both personally and professionally. It affect our bodies such as increases our stress levels. It affects our overall health in doing double shifts and places hardships upon others and ourselves. Working extra hours can hurt us but it also helps us financially.

I've seen and been placed in situations where i was told, "You have no choice, you will work over and do a double shift!" They threaten and cohort us then uphold their threats when intimated despite the laws in place.

Unfair treatment is there and it is seen in the ordinary common work place. In my career I have experienced this unfair treatment and it still occurs today due to the concerns of loss of job, income, insurance, and professional licensees. Some stay just because they like the ordinary daily treatment and often turn aside at the unfairness of our career ignoring the subtleties of the game. Others work because they have no other choice and aren't able to leave. Still our reasons are our own and the time invested in our careers is indeed a time well invested despite the unfairness of life.
