Owning a guard dog has become a popular choice among MILLIONS of people in the world. But the question is "Aren't all dogs guard dogs?" The answer could be yes because dogs are known to protect their owners but it is all about recognition. Only some dogs are recognized as guard dogs.
There are different types of guard dogs in the world. There are those dogs that actually go and attack the intruder. These dogs are commonly used by people who actually need protection. These dogs can be dangerous because they can even kill the intruder but some can be trained to attack parts which won't necessarily kill the person but harm them, sometimes badly.
There are also those guard dogs which are commonly referred as watch dogs. These dogs don't attack the intruder but warn the owner of an intruder. The Bullmastiff may or may not get along well with other dogs. The Bullmastiff gets along well with children and is very loving towards them.
American Pit Bull Terrier: American Pit Bull Terriers often display dog aggression, especially towards unfamiliar dogs of the same sex or level of assertiveness. Early socialization and good training can mean that many individuals of the breed may not display this trait; however, there is no guarantee. Extra precautions can be taken with this type of dog to prevent any incidents. While an APBT may not start a fight, even the best socialized pit bulls generally do not tolerate as much from other dogs as other breeds might. As dogs bred never to back down from a fight, it is sometimes more
