Dear Ma and Pa, everyone is laughing at me again cause I said, "Yes, I think all of our President's should be cheerful and happy."
Doggone it, I keep forgetting that "Gay" means "homosexual" too these days. They want to know if America is ready for a gay president. I figure, "Why not?"
We have a President who cannot speak proper English. He took us to war because Iraq had Weapons of Mass Destruction, Ties to 9-11 and bin Laden and hordes of people just waiting with open arms for us to get there. None of these things turned out to be true but, "It doesn't matter, we got rid of a bad man".
The thing is, Mr. Bush, we did not know we were sending our brave troops into battle to "get rid of a bad man". It might be refreshing to have a leader who does not rely on deception to get what he wants.
We have a female running for President who is just now "finding herself" and cries when the stress gets too high. We have a black man running for President, who is actually biracial, but we do not know if we are supposed to say he is half-white or half-black.
Everyone says he is a black man, and it is not really like a cup being half-full or half empty. It seems a lot more like his cup runs over and vibrantly he fills many people with hope.
Of course, I am not sure we could have a gay President cause the Bishop here is already telling people whom to vote for so they do not go to hell. Maybe we need more gay Bishops first.
I will bet that if we had a gay President, the Whitehouse would sure be something even more than it is now. They say those gay people can sure decorate, or maybe he would be another of those gay Michael DiAngelo painters. Then the dome of the Capitol would look just like the dome of the Sistine Chapel at the Vatican.
I would bet all the Bishops, not just the gay ones, would let people vote for a gay President.
I guess America might be ready for a Gay President but it could not happen anyway because of the "don't ask don't tell" policy. Strange that young men and women can be killed fighting for their country but they cannot let anyone know who it is that is putting their life on the line or even whom it is that really died.
America has some growing up to do before Uncle Sam is ready for a gay president.
