Poetry: Ironing

by yerton

What evil creature
Made me to hurt,
By inventing a process
To iron a shirt?

So there I will be
At half past ten,
Ironing clothes
Once again.

Could we not
Just change the fashion,
And give flat clothes
A good ol' bashing?

It's time the boss
Just said to you
"An ironed shirt,
You should eschew".

Then I could
Put down that tool,
And no longer be
The ironing fool.
