Gardening tips: How to start bedding plants

Gardening is a very pleasurable activity, from the time you sow seeds, you impatiently await for the seedlings to show up. When seedling appear you wait for it grow mature and bear fruits. However, in order to get these results a certain amount of work has to be done between the results.

Firstly, consider the space that you have for gardening. To have a beautiful garden you can plan the design of your garden beds. For best space accommodation sow seeds in a parallel manner.

Soil preparation:

To avoid health risks, organic garden is the best choice. For this you need a lot of compost or manure. If you choose manure, mix soil with manure and layout the gardening space in thin beds. Water the garden beds well for about two days after which you can sow your seeds. For compost gardening, make a wooden box in your backyard and add the grass and leaves and other compost materials in it. This will rot in about one month time.

Planting Depth:

After two days of watering the garden beds, the soil becomes rich. Sow the seeds in the soil of about two to three inches deep. Do not dig too deep as this will take ages for the seedlings to show up. Bigger plants, such as tomatoes should have lot of space between the plants of about an arms length. Lack of space will result in the plants drying out.

Watering:

Water the plants well everyday during non-rainy days. When it rains avoid watering the plants till the soil dries out. Otherwise, the plants will start drying out.

Sunlight:

Some plants need a lot of sunlight to be healthy such as tomatoes and cabbages. Others don't need them at all but some require just a little bit of the sun. So it is always wise to consider the sun spots before sowing your seeds.
