Poetry: Enveloped

Enveloped in a safe cocoon,
No light beams touch your face,
Yet you're content in a dark room,
Your special hiding place.

Enveloped in your shelter sweet,
Beneath my heart you rest.
I feel your tiny hands and feet,
Poke me beneath my breast.

Enveloped in this perfect nest,
No sadness in your heart.
No thirst or hunger, only rest,
A perfect way to start.

Enveloped in our Father's care,
Who planned you perfectly.
He watches as you're growing there,
Planted here inside me.

Enveloped in my swelling girth,
You're hugged in utero.
Tucked away until your birth,
I love you, don't you know!

Enveloped in a cresting wave,
Of labor, you arrive.
I hold you, knowing my life gave,
You strength to now survive.

Enveloped in two arms so strong,
Held lovingly and kissed.
Your Daddy's waited oh-so-long,
His eyes are all a-mist.

Enveloped as you developed,
A perfect way to grow.
God planned that you be enveloped,
By special design, you know.
