Tip's for hosting a childrens book club meeting

I enjoy reading and I enjoy writing. I have siblings that do not enjoy to read or write. They think it is boring. I wanted to help them so that they could improve their grades in school. So I created my own Book Club which I named Basheera's Annual Book Club. In order to make them want to come I had to include certain prizes I knew they couldn't resist.

You will need these tips to have a successful meeting.

• Flyers - You will need to create fun flyer's to make kids want to join your book club. You need something as a prize on the flier that all kids like, snacks. On my flyer's I Included that every time we completed a book we would have a party with great snacks such as McDonald's and Pizza . All kids love pizza and many kids love McDonald's.

• Sign-up Sheets- You will need to create sign-up sheets that are not only fun but include lots of information about the book club because you are not only trying to impress the kids but also the parents. What ever you do . Do not include a What You Need column on the sign-up sheet because if they have to bring things that remind them of school they might not want to join the book club.

• Books- Kids do not like to read very long books so start them off with a short book of only 12- 34 pages. Once they get through a book that is short they won't mind reading a book that is 60 pages long or more.

• Food- You will need food that is healthy but colorful such as vegetarian pizza. Vegetarian pizza has the look of Christmas so the kids will want to eat the pizza. When it comes to snacks you must be careful about the foods you choose. Potato chips are delicious but are also very salty and can be unhealthy for certain people. Try giving the kids Trail Mix Bars with a little bit of M&M's in a zip Lock bag. They will enjoy the Bars and The Candy.

• Celebration Parties- You must make it fun. Make it seem like a real Party. Parties also have invitations that are given out so you can join them. Give the kids invitations and tell them that are V.I.P at the party. They may not know what the abbreviations mean but they know that every celebrity on television is V.I.P at parties. Have music that the children like not what you think they will like. Instead of bringing your music have the children bring theirs. Have delicious but healthy food and have a good time.

• Ending Date- On the last day of the book club have a party and give the kids Certificates Of Completion and give them gifts and include a book , journal, and pen so they keep reading and writing over the time that they don't go to Book Club. Give them a journal that includes boxes that tells them to write how many hours they read. Include that if they read for just 5 hours they will win a gift. A big gift and they will be running to your book club.

• Flyer for the next book club- you should give them a flyer for the next book club with even better prizes. It will keep them wanting to read.

Have a good time planning your book club!
