My Son

You have come of age my son
It's time to let you go
But before you turn and run
I want you to know
From the day of your birth
From your very first word
I could not value your worth
To try was absurd
My blood pumps inside you
We share the same genes
You're part of me its true
Words can't express what it means
I am proud to be your dad
No matter what you do
Always remember when your sad
I'll be there for you
