Poetry: Sprinklers

Sprinklers

The early morning sun
Is wakening up the day
I turn my sprinklers on
And life begins to play

The flowers sprouting up
Wave slightly in the rain
Birds begin to chirp and sing
As they flutter to each puddle

The ladybug peeks out
From beneath a blade of grass
The lizard scurries on his way
After taking a nice bath

The crickets jump and then I see
A snake that wants to eat them
The gopher hides before he's seen
Until the snake moves on

Finally the water's gone
My garden now refreshed
I gather up my beans and peas
So everyone can rest
