CAT NAPS
Boris Ivanavich Merlinsky is the name of our old Russian Blue.
He's a big grey ball of fur and he constantly purrs,
and he always loves a good scratch.
Now, Boris Ivanavich Merlinsky, is quite a remarkable puss.
His greatest desire, is to wander off and retire,
he's the master of taking a nap.
You see Boris Ivanavich Merlinsky, thinks that he's really human.
There's a pillow under his head, when he lays on the bed,
on cold days he loves to be snuggled.
Well Boris Ivanavich Merlinsky, is quite the creative cat.
He loves to be covered, or to nap in the cupboard,
other time he curls up in the chair.
Boris Ivanvich Merlinsky, is a wily. whiskered, wonder.
He naps with such style, he looks like he smiles,
as he immodestly sprawls on his back.
Now Boris Ivanavich Merlinsky, is an artist at taking a snooze.
He'll roll up in a ball, or down in the hall,
sometimes he won't move for hours.
Right now, Boris Ivanavich Merlinsky, is here as I right this verse.
He sleeps next to me, just content as can be,
His gentle breathing adds rhythm to writing.

Permission not required
They do so when their body
Starts to tell them that it's tired

Naps
What is a nap?
It's just a repose
A rest, a break,
A quick little doze.
A snappy refresher
A healthy picker upper
A relaxing
Tired
Forever
Stolen moments of sleep
Focus, focus
Eyes closed
Briefly
At my desk
Head nodding
In a meeting
Focus, focus

I've got a lot to do today
I've got to mow the lawn
Just the very thought of work
Gives cause to make me to yawn
The garden
