Gaby's Noodles
Eating well doesn't necessarily mean spending a ton of money. There is one recipe that originated a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, and people tend to turn back to time and time again, just for the speed and ease of this dish. There's a lot of flexibility in it, so if you don't like one ingredient, it's really easy to switch things out.
1-2 Chicken Ramen pack(s)
1-2 bag(s) of stir fry vegetables
Big pot
Pan
*Optional! Extra protein (This is personal preference for what you choose. Chicken tends to go well with everything but real beef. Shrimp, chicken and pork seem to work really well)
1) Start the water boiling for the Ramen.
2) IF you're adding additional proteinchop the meat up and start it cooking. When it's about halfway done, add the vegetables and let it simmer while you start the next step.
3) Once the water is boiling, add the noodles in.
*Important! You need to break the noodles up at least a little before cooking them. Otherwise the finished dish will not be soupit will be noodles with veggies sitting on top.
4) Once the chicken and vegetables are done, put them off to the side while you finish out the Ramen noodles.
5) As soon as the noodles are done cooking, dump out some of the water. (If you want a more soupy' soup, keep more watermore of a cheapy stew, dump out more water)
6) Add the seasoning from the Ramen packet and the veggies and protein in all at once.
7) Stir until well incorporated.
*Feel free to add any additional seasonings that you might have on hand (examples include soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, garlic, seasoning salt, pepper, etc)
Enjoy! The entire point of this basic recipe is to just take a couple things that wouldn't be much on their own (ramen, the protein, or the stir fry vegetables) and mix them together to get a great and filling dish. And if you don't finish it off right then, package it up and refrigerate the leftovers for later. This recipe can be adapted for most anythingregular soup, other flavors of ramen, chicken broth squares, you name it, you can jazz it up.
