Poetry: Wicked

A wicked world full now of pain,
Constantly seeking worldly gain.
Truth and morals they disdain;
Seeking more, they die in vain.

A wicked world engulfed in lies,
Self-deceit and alibis.
They hear not others' plaintive cries,
Walking blindly to their demise.

A wicked world, no turning back,
Set in their ways, hearts turned black.
So sad their lives become a wreck;
Their sinful ways they cannot check.

Lord, help me change, sin turn away,
My wickedness all wash this day.
My spirit wills but flesh decay
Calls me again to the wicked way.

Always swimming against the stream,
Seeking things, all just a dream.
Change comes hard, but in God's scheme,
Things aren't as hard as they may seem.

I seek His face, I call his name,
I confess in all my shame.
My soul the Lord has set aflame,
As with God's help I overcame.

    Cos moonlight's when my true temptation dawns.
    I go dancing with my demons

    A laughing lovely wickedness is out there.
    A studied ignorance to the constraints of society,
    the morals of the majority.

    Fruit loops decorate
    The dining room floor.
    Little hands clean
    Sweep and mop.

    Battered and bruised
    I stay home from school.
