It's a dark old place,
in need of repair.
What is in there you ask?
You can look if you dare!
It's walls are not hard,
they are soft and quite stained.
It smells a tad bit like gym socks
and grass after it rains.
It holds all my treasures,
things important to me.
Like a bottle cap, some stamps
and a leaf from a tree.
There's make-up and papers,
a card that says, "You Rock!"
Pictures and pens and one
dirty old sock.
My keys are in there,
probably down near the stamps.
There could be some gum,
and some Midol for cramps.
The seams are all bulging,
it couldn't get much worse.
But I won't ever part,
with what's inside my purse.
