This years wide reciever draft class has only about three wide recievers worthy of a first
round draft selection. Devin Thomas, Mario Manningham , and arguably Limas Sweed. However
there is plenty of second and third round talent that will be put under consideration by many
teams. James Hardy, Desean Jackson, Adrian Arrington, Earl Bennet, Jordy Nelson, and Malcolm Kelly look as though they will have productive NFL careers. Jordy Nelson caught 122 passes for over 1,500 hundred yards and 11 touchdowns his senior season but is still predicted by scouts to be a third round selection in this upcoming draft. So as you can see this is a deep draft
for the wideouts this year. However i see alot of talent in this years group. There are more
than enough teams that stand out in need for a number one wide reciever. The Tennessee Titans,
Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills , Denver Broncos , New York Giants, New
York Jets, Oakland Raiders, St. Louis Rams, San Fransisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks , Tampa Bay
Buccaneers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Atlanta Falcons are all teams that could be using
an early draft pick on a wide reciever. Teams with extra draft choices may even draft two
recievers early on. The Philadelphia Eagles have 11 draft choices and have been trying to find
Donovan McNabb a play making wideout. The Atlanta Falcons also have a good deal of draft
choices and will try to surround whoever or whatever quarterback they trot on to the field.
With six early round picks the falcons could draft recievers and a quarterback to throw to them. The teams i do not see selecting a wideout at all are the The Pittsburg Steelers, Indianapolis Colts,New England Patriots, The Detroit lions, Kansas city, Cincinati Bengals (unless Chad is traded.) , and the San Diego Chargers. These teams are set at this position. The draft is in less than 10 days to the excitement of NFL fans across America. Devin Thomas will most likely be the first wide reciever taken and i expect him to be a top 20 pick.
Also Malcolm Kelly , Manningham , and Hardy should follow closely at the end of the first
round and going into the second. Also Sweed could actually fall into the second round.
