Tips for communicating with a stylist to get the hairstyle you want

If you want something from a stylist and a specific way that you want your hair to be then you must be very specific. There are tons of different types of hair styles and if you do not make it clear on what kind you want then you could come out looking completely unexpected. If you wanted layers in your hair and that is all you simply said then you might come out with the top of your hair short and the bottom long. There is a big difference and who knows if you were actually talking about piecy layers throughout all of your hair?

The very most important thing to do is to be clear! Do not hint around and give little examples of what you want, be straight to the point. You should be able to picture exactly what you want your hair to look like when you step into the saloon. If you do not then I would honestly say that you were not ready to get your hair done.

You don't step into the place with just a guess or a, "I think I want this," type of attitude. You need to know what you want and be sure you are willing to change your hair. Sure, your hair grows back, but not over night. Never get your hair done because one day you feel a certain style would look good. You might wake up the next day and ask yourself, "What did I just do?"

Maybe you should do a little research first. There are many websites that you can crop and put a new hairstyle on your head and see how it goes with the rest of you. If you do not want to go through all that trouble then just try and imagine what would look the best and do not make a dramatic change. It would be highly suggested that if you are a blond do not go black in your first dying. It is shocking and a huge change for the first time.

Bringing a picture of what you want to do is great to show the stylist. It is better to give them a visual and they will know exactly what you mean.

It is not that hard to communicate with a stylist, but if you do not do it correctly you could come out with horrible results. Just remember to be clear and pictures or visuals always help. If you do these things I am sure your hair will turn out exactly as you want it.
