Forsaking worship

Forsaking worship

In Exodus 20:3 the bible has the words from God saying do not have any gods or idols but me. The simple meaning is that God does want to be worshiped; he also says he is a jealous God. Man was instructed to build temples and synagogues for the sole purpose of worship to and for God. Take a moment and think, what if worship was forsaken? Are you not thankful for what God has given you?

Let me put this to you another way, think about your life right now, it probably involves work or school, family, friends and some sort of daily routine. Your daily routine may be so comfortable in your routine that you do not even go to church, or just worship God in your own home. Your life is just fine, no problems just cruising right along; here comes the bomb, the Messiah is returning right now! Now what do you do? If you say you are a believer I would think you would drop to your knees and beg for mercy. So, now what worries do you have? Your car, job, or school work? A trip to the mall? Things are becoming more complex, well things would be most complex if the Messiah returned right now.

Now its time for a reality check; how often do you worship or how often you should be worshiping. It's time to dig deep inside and ask yourself if God would be content with the way you have worshiped him. God is indeed a loving and caring God, he wants the best for you, but he wants his thanks too!He is the creator of all things,he is the reason you are here and have what you have.

God sent his son to share the teachings of God the father, many people were taught how to pray and how to worship.Jesus demonstrated as he traveled from place to place then going into the temples to worship,it was a great demonstration that is the model for todays worship. One of the last sermons that Jesus preached was the Great Commission where he said go and tell, meaning pass it on and on for generations. If we prayed as much as we talked on cell phones or text messages we would have a better world, do you want to know how bad our world is? Open your door and look outside.More importantly are you ready for the return of the Messiah?
