Poetry: Inevitable

by Gary Maclean

Created on: April 18, 2008   Last Updated: March 19, 2011

I am inevitable
A pair of eyes
follow my every move
I am preceded by sighs
that cautiously soothe

If anguish appears in one's mind
causing tears of sadness to render one blind
I imagine tis my doing
Though I am neither evil nor kind
I am inevitable

I bring love if I may
And joy on any given day
and to a boy I eventually bring man
From a girl A Mother I make, if I can.

I am Inevitable, I bring it all
I bring college and death
birth and remorse
mirth, strength and jest
and growing force

I know all for I do all
I am everything, yet
with one over me I am second
only to he or she
as the case may be

Don't try,
I can't be explained
I am universal
More prevalent than sound
all creatures or plants
alive or dead
have me to await
to hope for, or to dread

I can't be escaped
I am by far mightier than thee
I am the future so sit back
and wait for tomorrow to be
for that is a part of me
that is me - I am the future
I am inevitable
