Twas the night before Halloween
Carly pursed her lips together in concentration as she pushed the last stitch through the thick tweed material. Making one last loop, she tied a knot and neatly snipped away the remnants. Beaming with pride for having sewn up the large tear in an antique coat from the second hand store. This wasn't just any old coat, it was the kind of coat that the infamous Sherlock Holmes would've worn. Carly had big plans for this jacket as it was Halloween the next day and she had planned on dressing up as 'She'lock Holmes.
The phone rang suddenly, snapping Carly out of her thoughts.
"Carly, honey, the phone's for you." Her mother called.
"Thanks momma." Carly responded as she bounded towards the phone.
"Hello?" said Carly as she brushed her red hair out of her eyes.
"Hey chicky, how's your costume coming?" chirped Selena on the other end.
"Oh it's wonderful, I patched it up and you'd never know there was a hole there. I still have to do something about the smell though." Carly laughed, "How's your costume? All done?"
"Almost, I just need to find some black lipstick and we're good to go." Selena said, she had decided to go as vampire and wanted to be particularly scary.
As Selena was chatting about her costume and the Halloween party, Carly picked a few strays hairs off of the jacket. Plucking a stray fuzzy off of the lapel, she noticed a slip of paper peeking out from the inner pocket. With curiosity, she reached into the pocket and pulled out an envelope.
"Hello...did you hear me?" Selena questioned impatiently.
"Oh gosh Selena, I'm sorry. I just found an envelope in the jacket pocket." Carly said.
"Cool, what's in it?" Selena quizzed.
"Not sure yet, let me look." Obviously quite old and still sealed, Carly read the faded message on the front.
"What does it say?" Selena demanded impatiently, startling Carly.
"Oh my goodness." Carly said covering her hand with her mouth.
"What?!" Selena exclaimed.
"Selena, it says...Help me." said Carly quietly, her stomach turning with butterflies.
"Really...that's kinda scary." said Selena, "Well, what are you waiting for? Open it!"
"Okay..." Carly said nervously. She carefully tore open the seal. Gently, she removed the note from the inside and opened the letter.
"You're killing me here! What does it say?" Selena said frantically.
"It says...'Beware the man with the mark. Tell Aida that I love her' and it's signed by an Arnie' Oh, and on the back of the note there is an address, 5698 Raven Drive. This
