her mother to kick her out due to her involvement in the band Hep Alien. She marries her band mate Zack and becomes pregnant with twin boys on their honeymoon to Mexico. The irony that her life has turned out just like her mother's seems to be obvious to everyone but Lane until Rory leaves for her first job after graduating college.
Suki St. James (Melissa McCarthy): Lorilai's best friend and the head chef at both The Independence Inn and The Dragonfly Inn. Suki married Jackson Bellvile, The Independence Inn's produce supplier, and had three children with him. Suki spends the entire series being Laurel to Lorilai's Hardy, all the while getting into mishaps of her own.
Luke Danes (Scott Patterson): While the "lovable goof" factor seemed overdone at times, Luke is ultimately the man that every girl envisions when she thinks of the man she will spend the rest of her life with. He was the only true father figure Rory ever had. Underneath his acerbic demeanor is one of the most loyal people you have ever encountered.
Emily Gilmore (Kelly Bishop): To reside in Emily's world, there must be a constant vigilance to the order of so-called civilized society. She is the antithesis of everything Lorilai loves. Her heart was broken the day Lorilai left, but she is too proud to ever admit it. Anyone can see where Lorilai gets her combative nature from.
Richard Gilmore (Edward Herrman): Richard is where Lorilai gets her stubbornness from. I see a lot of my own father in Richard; the desperation to feel that he is the provider of the household, mixed with the constant fear of becoming obsolete at his career.
Michel Gerard (Yanic Truesdale): The stodgy concierge that Lorilai and Suki grew to love and can't live without no matter how much he drives the two of them crazy.
Paris Gellar (Liza Weil) : Without Paris, Rory would not have been half as driven as she was during her years at Chilton. It can be quite difficult to describe Paris; you truly must see her in action to get the full effect of the human storm front that is her essence.
