The power of positive thinking and attitude

by Julio Rangel

Created on: April 17, 2008

In my life I have met a wide spectrum of people. Some are sad and some are happy. Usually the sad ones are down the majority of the time. The happy ones are, of course, happy most of the time. Does that imply that the sad people have much more to deal with than the happy go lucky ones. The majority of the time the answer is no. Most people that are upset so much bring that unhappiness on themselves. I know that doesn't sound fair or even nice to come to that assumption, but negativity plays a big part in their everyday life. All those happy people running around usually have a positive attitude towards life and the obstacles it throws in their direction.

Positive thinking and the right attitude go a long way towards making a person a happy camper. That is why so many self-help books sell so good. People want to think positive and discover the right attitude that will lead them towards happiness. It is interesting how many people feel the need to read these books with the hope that a light bulb will go off in their head and a positive thought will automatically appear to them. I have thumbed through these books myself and I will admit that some have great advice that, when followed, can produce the base for a more positive self. Obviously, if you bought any of the self-help books that pertain to positive thinking and the right attitude then you are already on the right track. One thing that must be understood though, is that reading the book will not change you. YOU will change you!

When it comes down to it, you are the fountain that positive thinking will flow out of. Not some book or motivational speaker. All they do is give you a jumping off point, but it is up to you to keep flying high when things are falling around you. A person with the right attitude will crash through the barriers with the assurance that all will be well. If you have a negative attitude, not only will you be hesitant about going forward, but any little bump in the road will seem like a mountain. With a vision like that a negative person will turn around instead of thinking positively that this mountain can be conquered. When you think positive there is nothing that is unattainable.

Allow me to share some advice.

1. A positive attitude will get you positive results more times than a negative attitude!

2. With a positive attitude every mountain will seem like a mole hill!

3. Always remember. A positive attitude will attract positive people!
