It is always better to break out into song in front of a bunch of strangers to break the ice. Perhaps any one of you reading this article is my soul mate. Do you like fairies? I like fairies. We must be meant for each other.

As children we were constantly changing friends. Our mother would ask so how's so and so today.' And we'd shrug our shoulders and say I dunno. Don't play with so and so anymore.' Mother asks why not?' We shrug again, I dunno.' A few weeks later we tell Mother that we want so and so to come over.' And she is confused at our sudden change of heart. She thinks Only we adults are allowed to have a change of heart because we know our heart of course.' The only difference between the child and Mother is years of life experience. However children do know their heart, as we know ours, and both keep changing all the time. When we were little did we truly embrace people and events all the time, or have we assumed the perception that that is what a child is supposed to do? Why do we long for that perception of childhood thinking that having that outlook will solve everything? Looking naively at the world with wide eyed wonder; certainly if I look that way my Soul Mate will walk right up to me? Come on, I look cute enough right? No, I just look like I've had too much caffeine.

Looking, pining, waiting, and seeking astrology for that soul mate; are we trying to embrace everything we possibly can, our jaw set in a firm mental mantra I WILL find my soul mate!' that we are filling up your arms so high we can not see we are missing a soul mate every day? Put the books and charms and candles away and look at yourself in the mirror. Look right at your heart. What's in there? What is this soul mate' that you are pining for? Is our soul mate supposed to mirror us? Then is she/he supposed to look like us? How do I find out? How do I know? Chapter 8 said I will know'-but how do I find out how to know?

There have been many demands put on the role of a soul mate, poor thing. Must be able to listen and understand me, must be patient, adventurous, passionate, tell me gently when I am wrong, laugh when I need cheering up, cry with me, cuddle me when I don't want to be but I really do because my soul mate will know that, walk silently beside me, finish my sentences, and with
