I have traveled across the USA many times by vehicle.I have seen every state,but one that will stick to me until I die is A little Island I camped at as a child.Its called Hermit Island.It was some of the best times of my life.
This is north of Portland Maine about an hour and a half on the Ocean in Small Point,Maine.This Island had a sand bar that you drive across during low tide with about 350 camp sites.It had Hiking Trails great Fishing and It was surrounded by water on three sides.I would go there every summer with my parents and sisters for 2-4 weeks during the summer.I made so many friends and spent many hours fishing in a 12 foot row boat with my Dad.

The area also had 40 foot fishing boats to go out to sea and fish for Blue Fin Tuna and Cod Fish.What a beautiful area.It was many a time my Dad and myself came back with 30 or more Flounder with no problem.
During the night after the sun went down people would go down by the beach and play ping pon swim in the cold water,or eat,or light a fire in the sand.I had so much fun there and so did the rest of my Familly that we went every year until I was about 15 years old.
I live in Belgrade,Montana with my own Familly now but wish just once I could go back there one more time before I get to old.
