You've Never Been to Disney World?

Many first time Disney fans (who have yet to visit Disney World) know very little about Disney World. Sure, we've seen it on TV and we've read a zillion Disney World stories in the newspaper, but very few people grasp the enormity of Disney World!

Instead of getting frustrated and lost at Disney World, it's always good to have a plan. Here's a list of attractions and facts to assist Disney fans who are planning a trip to Florida:

Disney World is 47 square miles. It's most definitely a different experience than Great Adventure or Hershey Park. Put it this way, you could fit Manhattan into Disney World two times! It's really that huge. Bring a map and plan your activities.

There are four theme parks in Disney World. The theme parks are: Magic Kingdom. Epcot Center, Disney-MGM Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom. Six out of the eight Disney Vacation Club resorts are located in Florida in commuting distance to all attractions.

There are two water parks, which are the Typhoon Lagoon and Disney's Blizzard Beach.

There are approximately 27 hotels in Disney World.

Disney Fastpass should be used at theme parks. Forget about long chaotic lines and unhappy family members. Fastpass is free and it keeps everyone happy!

There are plenty of shops, eateries, and markets. However, if you have small children or a large family, you may want to consider purchasing the Disney Dining Plan. It may save you a fortune and fill everyone's bellies throughout the day.

DO take advantage of the Disney Dining Plan if you have small children. You'll be able to have sit-down meals together as a family, instead of waiting in long lines to feed your hungry children.

DO plan your Disney vacation in advance. This will save you from disappointment if you wait until the last minute.

DO use the Disney Fastpass in theme parks. It's free and you won't have to wait in long lines with unhappy people.

DO NOT become belligerent with Disney Characters, staff, and fellow Disney fans is lines are too long, attractions are closed, or you're in a bad mood. It's not their fault.

DO NOT smoke in theme parks unless you want to be removed from the park. There are designated smoking areas, use them.

DO NOT let great opportunities pass you by. If you're a Disney Vacation Club member and you've received deals on theme parks and Cirque du Soleil from Disney, use them!

DO NOT plan to see everything in one day. Disney World is huge! Try to see a little bit each day. Take your time and have fun!
