Poetry: The tragedy of love

by -b

Created on: April 17, 2008

Closing her eyes to darkness and pain
She re-lives the screams till she feels insane
Wanting to know if there's truly life after death
She flinches as she hears him take his last breath

Knowing he's finally met his demise
She let's out her own shuddered sigh
Visualizing his tainted soul leaving the corpse
She finds herself holding onto his remorse

Not wanting to shed the tear that comes to her eye
She moves away silently saying good-bye
Turning to look once more upon the door closing on the past
Seeing beyond the corpse to a love that was never meant to last.
