Poetry: Mistaken identity

by Sapphire Magpie Ravenclaw

That is not the one I am
That is not me now
I don't know if that was me then
Could you spot me in a crowd?

I don't think I was horrible
I don't think I was rude
I'm sure I wasn't even there
It must have been some other dude.

I did not steal the biscuit tin
Nor clean the bath with paste
You acted on assumption
And accused me in your haste

It was not me, of that I'm sure
I don't know what you think I did
Maybe she looked a little like me
But it was definitely a different kid.
