Blank the Canvas
Creamy white and empty,
Folds firm and tight.
Blankly staring and
Preventing activity tonight.
Begging for color,
Requesting texture.
Medium needed for
Full pleasure.
Lines, perspective,
cross hatched x's.
Curved lines and linear,
Quick and perplexing.
Dimensional proportions
Necessary for depth.
Looking back into the shadows
as it brings forward the light.
Transparent now
Void of structure,
Waiting for the
artist pallet.
Awaiting romancing
the cornered easel,
Blank Canvas
Covered with nothing, but empty spaces.
Want of touch and need of color,
Expressionless motivation required,
Blank will flourish
No longer vacant, lives.

I hope you don't mind
If I use tried and true rhythm
If I choose words that rhyme
Rather than cadence that seems blithesome
