Water sports & beach activities in Puerto Penasco, Mexico

When you arrive at Puerto Penasco, Mexico. there are so many water sporting activities you can get involve in and other sports too.

These activities are:

ATV Rentals: Puerto Penasco is an ATV paradise. Explore the rolling dunes, hills, and the desert on your own private speed machine. Not a worry though, you have your ATV to get you out of town; then ride in the surf to your hearts content! ATV rental distributors are scattered throughout Rocky Point.

Aquariums: Take in the wonders of the sea, as you look at octopus, or even feed the sea turtles and sea lions. It is a fun and inexpensive activity that everyone will enjoy!

Horseback Riding: Trot along the beach on horseback, and take in a truly beautiful view of the ocean

Para sailing: take a ride over the Sea of Cortez with nothing but you, your travel partner, Experience a world away from the ground out panoramic views of the Sonoran Desert and Rocky Point shoreline 800 feet in the air.

Beaches
The beaches in Mexico are open to the public and free of charge. An important AAA travel tip to Mexico is always be extremely careful while swimming, as very few beaches have lifeguards. Do not swim alone and keep your eye on the waves as they can be unpredictable. In all beach destinations the water condition flags are posted and should be followed. Do not panic if you feel you are being pulled out to sea. Swim parallel to the beach and usually in 50 ft. conditions will change.

Fishing: Enjoy vacationing with a rod and a board, then head to the Sea of Cortez. Traditionally the Sea of Cortez has been a commercial fishing zone. The Sea of Cortez is host to a number of interesting and unique little sea critters such as the Flying Mobula and the Vaquita Marina, the latter of which has been called "the world's rarest, most endangered porpoise".

Kayaking: Take in the sun-drenched sea from a different perspective. Rent a kayak at sunset and watch Sonoran Desert. Paddle with the dolphins as they come right up to your boat!

Scuba Diving: Explore the Sea of Cortez with an underwater adventure.get to see the life under water, as you get very close to sea lions, tortoise, dolphins and so much more.
