Poetry: Peace

Peace

It's not so unusual these days
What with the world continually renewed
And me in the old fashioned ways
I sometimes worry how I'm viewed

So oft I tread this path you see
After a battle with some youth
Oer how things are or used to be
Neither now reflects the truth

But shades and nuances of life
Evade the logic of the mind
And lead us on to bitter strife
And only darkness finds

Such small things overshadow tall
No matter real significance
Feelings tyrant over all
Tear away munificence

I'm sorry springs so easily
Post the darkened circumstance
Kindness leads us peacefully
If given only a half a chance

Pensive tensions that arise
Bring battle face to face
Where anger still gives birth to lies
Where softness not a trace

Humility may teacher be
If give some small hold
It's lessons though they painful be
Are worth their weight in gold

For all are flawed and all are stained
Guilt which we all bare
Words our hearing hearts have pained
Quiescence may we share

Peace, Peace I wish to thee
Gods blessing to your life
Uneventful may it be
And ever free from strife
