My spirits soar on this appointed day,
Knowing you will soon be coming my way!
I counted the days until we could meet again,
It seems now you rate as my dearest friend.
I rely on you to supply all my crucial needs,
Without you life would be an irritable slow bleed.
Come soon my dearest to visit with me,
Remember I'm living from week-to-week.
Without you my pantry has dwindled,
Hunger then next so fiercely kindled.
You keep the lights burning inside my home,
Supply warmth so that I feel not the cold.
Till you came back I cried for lack of any change,
Franklin and Jackson I had even called your name.
I speak of not a real person by the way,
Simply of my next expected payday!
