Poetry: Ant hills

by Bridie Cavanaugh

Created on: April 16, 2008

Laid across the landscape
Like castles made of sand
Each a fortress built by perseverance
And teamwork

Gateways to an unseen world
Twisting tunnels leading home
To the ultimate Ruler

Catacombs stacked
Beneath the earth
Purposeful and planned

Crumbs bestowed
Crumbs eaten
Stored for winter's cold

Armies at the ready
Roles clearly defined
Working together
To form an alternate world
