What do wives want from their husbands? Hmmmm! Oh yeah, MONEY! Just kidding. This November my husband and I will have been married for 25 years so I can only speak for myself on what I want from my husband and I am sure that most women will agree. I am going to write about a few things because it would take a long time to really spill the beans as to what women want from their husbands.

1. Acceptance/Love: You loved me before you married me so accept who I am after the "I do's". I don't expect you to like every thing about me just accept it and go on. Don't try to change me. Love me for just being me. Every woman wants to feel loved.
As we grow older, we change. Husbands need to realize we are not the same person we were ten to 15 years ago. I am going to speak for myself now. I use to be so organized. Now when I put things up, I can't remember where I put them. I want my husband to have some patience while I am looking for whatever it is he asked for.
I used to like to get out and ride around, now I just like being at home. I don't care much for deer meat or bass anymore because of so many years of cooking it. My husband still loves it, just as much now as he did when I met him. People change.

2. Laughter: My husband could make me laugh so hard before we were married and I want him to continue to make me laugh. Laughter is good medicine for the soul. In today's world where both husband and wife have to work, we tend to forget about smiling because we are too busy frowning about how high the gas prices are, or how much the grocery bill was or maybe just worrying about life itself. It's easy to get caught up in all that worry and it takes away from the joys of marriage.

3. Partnership/Companionship: In my opinion, this is what marriage is all about. Besides my husband being funny, this is why I married him in the first place. I loved him and wanted him as my partner/companion. After many years of hard work, he is just that. He is my best friend. He has learned my moods even though I have to remind him sometimes of what kind of mood I am in, he has learned to accept me for me(I didn't say like everything about me).

4. Attention/Listen: Pay attention when I tell you something. Sometimes, we have to work on this one. Men can only have one thing on their mind at a time whereas women can have a hundred and one things going on at the same time and that is why God made woman. Listen to what I am saying to you and don't put words in my mouth because you were not listening. I believe women want to open up to their husbands if they know their husband's are paying attention. How many wives can say that their husbands said to them and I quote, "you didn't tell me that", like it is the wife's fault the husband didn't know. Pay attention!

5. Respect: Last but not least, I want respect from my husband. I feel respect should be earned and I believe over the years I have spent raising my family, working, cleaning, and the list goes on, I have earned the right to be respected. I have earned every gray hair that is on my head. Husbands should respect their wives.

I am thankful my husband and I toughed out the bad times and stayed together. Marriage is tough but if you stick together it is worth it in the long run. I love my husband and I know he loves me. I love my life and I wouldn't change a thing.

Both my husband and I work and we both pay the bills. Money is not an issue.
