Poetry: Mannequins

by Lisa Kates

Mannequins with

Alabaster skin

Sculpted cheekbones

Lush black lashes

Bowed crimson lips

Chiseled perfection.

Slender hands posed on

Tiny cinched waists

Dressed in high fashion

Always looking perfect

Flirting wordlessly from

Glossy magazines

And bold billboards

Beckoning desires

From those

Desperate to look like

Pretty

Porcelain.
