The Sci-Fi Channel's best shows

The best show on the Sci-Fi Channel is by far the Ghosthunters. This show is based on the actual TAPS team (The Atlanic Paranormal Society) based in Rhode Island founded by Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson. These two men had personal experiences that caused them to go into the "ghosthunting" business.

What is so great about their approach compared to some other ghosthunters is that Jason and Grant try first to debunk the claims by homeowners, company owners. They will go in with a scientific mind. The two men are plumbers for Rota-Rooter and a lot of bumps and clangs people hear can be explained away by checking the faucets; the heating systems. Jason and Grant are not too quick to say "Yes, your place is definitely haunted" without having some sort of physical evidence. By physical evidence they mean either video of happenings like moving objects, apparitions, etc; voice recordings; photographs. They do not go by personal experiences alone: "Something touched my hand."

They've built a great reputation by being very sure about the evidence they find before making a claim that a place is haunted. They've been called into places that are very famous and found absolutely no evidence of haunting, and stuck to their "diagnosis". The Air Force, Coast Guard, famous hotels and tourist spots have called them in to investigate. They have a very professional approach and a great team.

This show interests me not only because of my fascination and curiosity about life after death, but from a scientific point of view. Most people are curious about ghosts but don't want to admit it, or they've had experiences and feel like they're going to be laughed at if they tell someone. This show has given these people hope that there are answers, and that they're not alone. I also like that family cases that involve children come first and that they do not charge for investigations. This shows that they have great ethics and a general concern for people and just want to help.

I think that this is a great show because it takes some science fiction ideas and brings them into reality with physical proof.
