Frank the Rabbit from Donnie Darko
Frank is a very evil-looking 6ft tall bunny, the complete antithesis to Jimmy Stewart's lovable Harvey. It is unclear whether he is actually the creation of Donnie Darko's troubled mind or not, but his presence certainly encourages destructive behaviors. Frank is memorable because he's truly out and out scary.

Death from The Seventh Seal
One of the most recognizable and widely imitated characters of all time, Bengt Ekerot's Death from The Seventh Seal dresses as a cloaked, scythe carrying Grim Reaper. The character has become a stereotype, used in myriad films since such as Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey, but arguably remains a memorable movie villain in any incarnation.

The Terminator
James Cameron's original 1984 film produced a villain of nightmarish proportions. A super strong cyborg, who feels no pain, seems unstoppable and is programmed to pursue and kill the young Sarah Connor at any cost. It's brilliantly simple and shudderingly sinister. The Terminator is a monster.

There are so many other notable villains in the fantasy genre, like the evil Wicked Witch of the West whose persecution of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz is despicable. The Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood also comes to mind and many memorable cartoon baddies such as Syndrome in The Incredibles and the evil Witch Queen in Snow White. It's almost impossible to pick the best, but these are definitely amongst some of the most memorable.
